That bar is aluminum. Steel does not dent from a bungee cord end. I know it is aluminum because I have one just like it.
No one seems to know where the few aluminum bars came from.

It's my Buddy Shannon Carter selling it. He had to sell his bike even though he really hated it. He just had a few left over parts to get rid of. I've seen the bar in person and it's nice. I have one or I would snag it up.
It's scratched not dented. No one has to buy it! He saved it to sell because he knows how much everyone is always wanting one and then when one comes up, everyone tries to pick it apart. Either you want it or you don't. Most of the picky people were the guys on Facebook who do not really understand Roadstars anyway.

I say burn it and piss on the ashes, that should really set everyone off! Whether its steel or aluminum it's still a nice piece.
Put a magnet to it and see if it sticks. If it is pure chrome, the magnet WILL NOT stick to it. If it is a stainless grade that contains a substantial amount of nickel, the magnet will stick.

I responded to him in the first 4 min. after he posted it and had first dibs, I really want one, but turned out I couldn't afford it so I let it go to the next in line

congrats, I really wanted it...but just can't swing the money.....my house will be paid off next year, I'm thinking of seeing if I can get one made at a shop around here when it's all paid off, and instead of chroming it, painting it either black or the silver/grey color of my bike....when the time comes I will be asking for precise measurements from people who have them, and maybe some close up pictures also....
