Fairings 10 Years, 6 Months ago
|
|
I have been looking into after market fairings for the Roady in Canada. So far I have had no luck. SO I am wondering if the Venture fairings would fit the Roady. Any suggestions would be helpful. I did see the Harley fairing project on the site but would perfer a direct bolt on. Thanks

Helmut,
Saw your post ref the fairings. I picked up a Premeux faring this spring. I looked around quite a bit before I got mine. It’s similar to the one on the destination cycles page, but it’s direct from that builder so it was a bit less. I got mine with the radio box but no radio. I figured that I could put one in later and its come in handy as a small glove box. It was $1053 (U.S.) including shipping to the mid-Atlantic area. It took about 6 weeks from time of order to receipt. It ran $ 500.00 with a local custom painter and he even matched the pearl white and the striping. The painter commented on the quality of the fairing. The back is finished matt black, so I didn’t have the inner painted. Overall, I’m quite satisfied. Below is the link to the vendor. Oh yea, one more thing, I thing I had to send a certified/cashiers check rather than credit card, which really had me nervous at first. They won’t start production until they get it. The link is http://www.premeux.com/Home.asp.
I also looked at the The one offered by Hoppe at http://www.hoppeindustries.com/. I think I opted for the Premeux because it was a bit cheaper and I didn’t need the tunes right away, and I don’t seem to miss them.
It looks like the folks at http://www.destinationcycles.com/FairingRoadStar.htm act as a vendor for both. I saw the hoppe on a roadstar, but I thought it appeared a bit cluttered.
Hope it helps.

I have spent endless man hours looking for a "nice" harley style fairing with music. This is what I think is the best deal on the net. www.wideopencustom.com $799. with radio and speakers. The Batwing has no music, it's a shell . And I think the Rifle fairing is ugly as soon as I put the money together, I'm ordering one.

Wide open custom fairing. bolts right on. $799.00 with the radio and speakers, 699.00 without. Local shop matched my paint and painted it for $60.00. Took less than a week to get when I ordered it.

The mounting brackets had to be put on the fairing. They make the same fairing, but have different mounting brackets that attach to the fairing depending on what bike you are putting them on. There are 6 screws in each bracket. It took about 5 minutes to put the brackets on the fairing. You would want them off for painting, thats why they come off when ordered. After the brackets are mounted to the fairing, it just bolts to your existing windshield brackets. 4 bolts and it is off. dont let that stop you. Its nothing I promise.
