If I may offer up some advice on some natural remedies to help deal with depression. Go for a run, jogging is one of the best ways to deal with depression even though it is hard to start. Yoga and meditation. Yes guys you can do yoga! Up your intake of fruits - pineapple is one of the best fruits to help replenish your serotonin levels. If your serotonin level is low you will fall into a depression. Do a detox, drinking only fruit and vegetables juices. Eat some raw hot peppers, believe it or not they help release your endorphins almost giving you a natural "high" Keep your body healthy, it will help clear your mind.

This clinic is the best tonic for battling all sorts of ailments, including depression.

I also have had my moments and at times it's bloody hard to kick-start yourself but at these times I have to remind myself life is too short so we've got to make the most of what we've got.

Take care John, you're definately not alone.

What mrfurious said hit the nail on the head. That said it all. With that said, this is why motorcycling is SOOOO FULFILLING in every aspect. We need it.....we live because of it....we breath it.....it keeps us alive. It's that simple. When we ride at the RIGHT TIME, or with the RIGHT PEOPLE, or to the RIGHT PLACE...we COME ALIVE!!!

Jade,
Dude, I know how you're feeling... and belive me brother... I empathise with you...

I've been dealing (sometimes badly) with depression since I was a kid...
I didn't realize it until I dated a girl who was worse than me... (boy, oh boy what a relationship that was...!) But, that's beside the point...

But, remember this...
As bad as things seem to be... nothing is as bad as it seems at the time...
While you feel bad about recent events that you feel you don't have any control over... go back in your mind to a time when something seemed bad at the time, but is nothing but a memory now... (That'll help with perspective...)

I'm not one who is much for "therapy" so, Ive been trying some natural things...

The biggest thing I have found to help lately... is "light therapy..." (yeah, I'm sure that sounds funny coming from a guy who lives in Florida, where the sun shines all the time...)
But, here's what happens... I work in an office with no windows and fluorescent lights, and the office lights litterally "sucks the life out of me..." I get out of work tired and depressed and ready to kick the next cat that crosses my path...
So, when I get home I turn on this light box that I made and sit in front of it for an hour and I start to feel better... (my wife calls it my "happy box"... which leads to a lot of other jokes around our house...)
But, the point is, it is basically a 4 tube fluorescent shop light that I mounted to the wall and fitted with 4 Phillips "Day-light" 40 watt bulbs that produce 100% full spectrum light at 6400 degrees kelvin... (Sun-light!)

So, from one who's been (and sometimes is still...) there... Give it a try...
(You can buy the bulbs and fixture at the Home Depot...)

Good luck brother and hang in there...
Better times are coming and believe it or not... they're not coming to an end!!!

In the words of Persian poets "Sanai" & "Attar" of Nishaper & also supposedly King Solomon, "This too shall pass!". This simple proverb is true, because every tragedy has an end!

About the only thing that keeps me goin, is looking forward to riding. I can just ride and ride thinking about nothing but how awsome it is to be on two wheels with the wind on my face.
