Re:LED's 9 Years, 8 Months ago
My LEDs came from Covington Heavy Duty Parts, I don't know if they have a website or how many stores they have, but they specialize in big truck parts and tractor parts. I got chrome pods with 3 blue LEDs per pod, one LED is strait down and the other two are on each side of the pod at 45degree angles, with 4 pods under the tank it lights up the sides of the bike well and they are attached with double sided tape. I marked my tank where I wanted them mounted then I took the tank off and taped all my wiring under the tank and mounted the lights, then I used a 2-pin connector just like one used on a battery tender this way I can remove my tank without messing with the LEDs, works great. I paid under $7.00 per pod.

Not to diss anyone's sources or favorites...
But, I just launched a motorcycle accent lighting business down here in the sunny south...
I made an offer much like clifford did once before, and I'll make it again... All Roadstar Clinic members... I will offer accent lighting and lighting accessories from StreetGlow or Custom Dynamics at cost plus 10% plus shipping...
My website is still under development or you can go right to Custom Dynamics or StreetGlow and check out the lights you might be interested in... Then PM me with what you like...

I've bought lights from http://www.unique-leds.com/index.php?target=categories&category_id=114

Prices are real good. 6LED pods for $6.99. Their shipping isn't outrageous either, less than $5. I ordered 2 x 24LED flex arrays, which I mounted under my saddlebags. With shipping it was about $32. About 1/2 the cost of most other sites. Its rather cheap stuff, but it has held up so far. Not a huge selection either there, but if you're looking for engine lighting, prices are very good.

Don't know about other state laws concerning LED's but check them first before you order/buy. Shoulda did that before I bought the blue ones. Wisconsin state law says no blue except on authorized (aka police) vehicles. Now I gotta go thorough the return thing and get amber instead. Live and learn (and learn and learn and etc.).

Why doncha just lay some amber or white LEDs alongside of your existing ones and throw in a two way switch...? That way, you'll have your blue while you're parked and white (or amber or purple or green - your choice) when you're running...
