True, but if you are not budgeting for a 450.00 bike payment every month, probably seems a little more “do-able” from the disposable income perspective.

The $450 is why we all ride what we do. Most of us could buy any bike made if we wanted to, we are just either all to cheap or thrifty with our money and refuse to justify spending 25K to buy anything more than we did. Keep in mind that the Indian is like a HD in price and for the person buying 1 and is OK with that kind of payment options are nice and mods (even engine mods) are just another thing for us modaholics to buy and play with.

You summed it all up well, JD. For myself, to get a better price I bought used. Bike was three years old. Did a pile of research. Chose a 2014 Indian Chieftain. Would I put a stage 1, 2 or3 in it? Nope. It is perfectly fine the way I bought it - all stock. Sure after having the taste of upgrading a Road Star I will do a few things like an after market seat, some new grips, maybe mirrors. Small stuff.
Love the bike, enjoy the sound if it, factory, would buy one again (used).

The BB kit is 2579.99 CAD$$$$ plus dealer install. Never mind the exhaust, intake and ECU updates required, if not done already.

I decided chasing torque is like giving your credit card to a crack addict. The only way I will be satisfied is to launch my bike from an aircraft carrier catapult. Watching hot rod programs with 1000hp cars with dual turbo's running the quarter mile under 8 seconds brings me to the realization I cannot afford it.

If I had the surplus income with a bottomless credit card most likely have several bikes unique to it's own. Most likely the Road Star will be my last bike. It is a great bike so I chose well.

Dan what we need is to build you a poor man's 11-second nitrous oxide breathing roadstar!!.. We just need to design a very compact crush-proof Nos bottle holder that we can tuck away somewhere inconspicuous .. and a clutch strong enough to handle it.. the latter being the most difficult probably.. Oh, and a steel sack to hold your big balls in as you ride.
