Yes they can be polished .... I did my own and they look like chrome.

Take them somewhere else or there are number of vendors on the RoadStar Riders Forum that will do them.

Can you share your beer?

It's a lot of work ....

The rotors have a texture to them. This must be smoothed. I used an orbital sander with 80 grit. You need to go very slowly and try to get an even surface or you'll see the 'dips' in the final product. Once the surface is smooth, move to a 220 wet and dry, then 400, 800, 1200. Then pull out the sisal buffing wheel with rouge compound followed by spiral sewn cotton wheel with white or green compound.

I would not advise using a drill for buffing, it's not fast enough. I used my grinder with a buffing wheel adaptor but you should note that most grinders are not good for buffing as the fine compound gets inside and ruins the bearings.

It's very hard, heavy and difficult to work worth ... but I like it. :

It shines like chrome and if you scratch it you can buff it out. Much better than chrome for the long run.

I know what you mean Doc.. I have messed with some parts for boats and have had to fab something out of stainless, drilling it is hard enough, but getting it to shine is WORK.. But like you said, once your there, your there...

Long time ago, I decided to drill hole in a SS sink for a sprayer. First time working with SS. It took me forever to drill through using a hispeed drill bit .... I thought the drill was dull as nothing was happening.
