99-03 tail light - mods? 1 Year, 2 Months ago
If I go ahead with painting the bike, I was thinking about cleaning up the back end. I need to take the lights and stuff off and take a look at what can be done back there unless someone has a picture of the naked fender? just holes or is there divots to fill? Don't want to cut the fender, leaving it stock, but maybe fill the holes in or get some other tail light that is better looking?

Anyone else messed with this?

i bought both the front and rear lights from kuryakyn.... this is a link to the rear assy, it fits over the stock brake light so i was happy. all sits really close to the fender and looks very clean and minimal

you can just see it in this pic but as i said it hugs the fender so not much to see

I like the kuryakyn set up, but it's expensive. I was lucky and found a guy on CL getting rid of a brand new setup bullet signals and all for less than half the price. I see a lot of Harley guys getting rid of theirs on CL. If you place the Taillight right there are only 2 small holes in the fender that have to be filled. I just used 2 of the stainless bolts off the original Taillight setup to fill them. I guess it all depends on the look your going for. Good luck with the change over

There are no divots in the fender just holes...I didn't mind the stock light but hated the signals so I found a integrated LED board that had the sigs built into it that fits inside the stock light fixture..I think it came from a company call alternative lighting but I'm not sure...

Plinth? Really?? Who says plinth? OK, so I had to look it up. I can't believe it, 55 years old and I never heard plinth. That is a cool taillight though.

Plinth is also a building term. It's a mount or bracket

One should never stop learning
