Bait-n-switch when you get there they will tell how it was a misprint and that they have a contractor do all their advertising and they must have gotten it wrong. Then the old Sorry that is not the price.

I was wondering the same question, how could it be so cheap from a dealer to boot (who ALWAYS) needs to make a profit on their sales. hummmm.

Seems too good to me as well. That is why I mentioned the skimpy details and if someone was in the area who might want to go check it out. I know funds have me out of the market right now, no matter what the price.

I would bet on the misprint thing too. They just wanna get you down there, hoping it'll be love at first sight, and you'll buy it at a much elevated price. Maybe they'll even do you a "favor" and finance it for you...at some outrageous interest rate. Lots of M/C sales are "impulse" as it is, so they play on that.

Advertisers of all sorts do this all the time. Basically what it comes down to is, they can print any price for any item as long as they go back at a later date and print a retraction. Car lots, grocery stores, any business where some unscrupulous bastard call the shots.

Retractions started out as a legitimate means to correct an honest mistake. Someone along the way figured out how to twist it into a tool they could use to deceive unwitting customers. Another fine example of the road to hell being paved with good intentions.

I called them to ask about this bike.
A guy in sales told me it sold a couple days ago, apologized for the inconvenience, wished me Merry Christmas & thanked me for calling.

So it never really existed and when you called instead of showing up at his showroom he had to say it sold. Or It was a real bike that sold, Just not for that price.
