I rode a real Harley today 6 Months, 3 Weeks ago
My brother and his group headed for Sturgis today. they got about 3 hrs from hope and one guy ran into the back of a friend of ours. He messed up his ankle and couldn't shift the bike. They called me to bring my trailor and come get him and his bike. I just recently bought an old Allis Chalmers crawler and still had it on the trailor. They asked me to ride it home. My Fiance drove me up there and my buddie rode home with her and I rode the old Pan Shovel home. I can't imagine taking a trip across country on that old rattle trap. I actually like that old bike and nearly bought it some time back but I still wouldn't ride cross country on it. it has a late model Fat Boy frontend with a solid front wheel. I went through a storm and the wind was blowing me all over the road. It was a bit spooky. It could also have been for all the chit he had tied on that thing.

Darn too bad the Allis Chalmers crawler was mounted on your trailer, might have saved your nerves and kidneys. Sure makes one appreciate the roadastar suspension huh?

Kinda like accidentally running a red light, and then realizing what happened on the other side. You get that little chill, because you were lucky enough not to get hit.

Thad ole buddy, not sure if you realize this or not, but the adjectives that you are using to describe your lady friend keep changing.

Pan Shovel, like a 1966 FLH? Had one years ago.
Thought that was the most badass bike on the planet at the time (late 70s) and it was, at least for me.
Compared to a Roadstar it's a buzzy rattlecan with flimsy brakes that rides like an overloaded Schwinn & steers like a plow.
You know totally badass!

Wouldn't mind having that bike now though, just because it was my first BIG bike.

The one I rode had a fatboy frontend and a nice disk brake. Not sure what year it is but it has a swing arm and actually rode and handled fairly well. It seemed small. It had more power than I expected but now whitey seems fast after riding it.
