Check it out with a throw-away email account, if anything. As we see here all the time, mods are almost disposable when it comes to resale. I'd bring a friend, if I was going to have a look, and was carrying cash. But some folks on here posted one of those to good to be true deals off of CL as well. Thought it was a scam cause I never heard a call back in a week. Guy claimed he didn't know how to use a computer. I thought it was funny cause how did he get ad on CL! It was a 2007 under 4000 miles and in excellent"like new"condition and he was asking 4500.00. So took a chance and hooked up trailer and drove to Penn. Long story short, it was from a divorce and ad was actually legit. That bike is now setting in my garage and got the bike even cheaper than what he was asking!
