Does nail in tire automatically = screwed? 8 Months, 1 Week ago
Yesterday I noticed a nail in my front tire but it was not loosing air. It was just off center, so I figured/hoped the RideOn tire sealant and balancer was doing its job. Today I pulled it out, and of course, air began leaking. I called the shop I usually use to mount my tires and they say they won't fix it due to the liability. I have a tire plug kit I keep with me for emergencies, is that safe to use that for long term repair? Or do I **have** to replace the tire?

After reading about Kai and Loren's recent adventures I'd be getting a tire

How old is the tire?
If it were me, I would plug it and tube it.
Next time if you can purchase road hazard protection

Could use a plug patch but you'd still have to bust the tire off.

Why not put a tube in it with no plug?

I second a plug patch from the inside. I picked up a 1/4" lag screw at 2200 miles on rear tire. New 888's at 11,000 miles.

Done a little digging and it looks like the plugs aren't intended as a permanent fix... *$#!t@!

Oh well... FWIW, this is basically what I have.

My health and well being are worth far more than the price of a new tire.
