What exactly do you mean when you say it has no soul? They certainly sound good. I would like more explanation on this statement

I didn't ride it for long. It had a front end wobble due to a bad front tire. Didn't have the grunt and feeling of sitting down into the bike. Had stock muffler though.

I've modded all 3 of my R*s and the Strat I bought last November was stock. It had some more grunt than my R*s, but not much more. I was surprised that it didn't have more punch than it did. It was just so much 'smoother' than my R*s that I felt it lacked the soul of an R*.

Like I said... If I'd wanted a touring bike, I'd have probably loved it, but I'm a cruiser guy, and I just toodle around a lot no more than even an hour at a time typically, and so, the Strat just wasn't my kind of bike. It's gone, and I made some money off of it... that's all I ever actually intended to do with it; flip it.

Re:Stratoliner help 8 Months, 1 Week ago
I think a lot of the old guard here on the Forum moved on to Roadliners or Strats. I don't remember hearing a lot of negatives about them, other then the tank needed more fuel, and they had a tendency to wear out rear tires. Everybody who had ridden one, was always wondering if they could get that power plant in a Roadie, or so it seems. I seem to remember Gram?? posting a glowing summary. BigBear went that way. Erbman moved on. Swomack road the stuffing out of the one he had. A couple of members in the midwest/northeast went that way and never looked back. I think Kai liked his, but the new Journey?, has caught his eye for the long distance Touring/Cruiser potential(he makes lots of long trips).

You had great luck with the last Carport/garage bike you found.

They go a lot faster a lot smoother and are more nimble then the Roadies from what I've seen here, but it comes at a cost of distance between tanks. They are not fuel sippers, from what I've read here on the forum.

There was a Champagne colored one with a shield and bags I saw a number of years ago on Craigslist, and I really like it. I would of, but. I like the retro look. The headlight and cowl bothered some, but I didn't think it was that obnoxious looking.
Make a point to check for what Bubba mentioned.

Means it don't shake your nuts loose! And I Don't mean the metal ones on the bike either.

If Smooth = Soulless, fine. I have enough soul myself

I have an 06 Strat and with the duals it is all I need. Roadies have a hard time pulling on me if they're solo and I'm 2 up.
