For what it's worth, it also depends on what part of the country you're in... Here in northern California, motorcycle prices, regardless of the brand, are stupid high... But then so are most things... But a few hundred miles from here, up in the Pacific North West, they're stupid cheap. It also depends on the time of year too... Winter is always the best time to buy a bike [or a convertible for that matter] because prices are lowest, but as soon as spring hits, the prices go up and peak in summer. So umm... Pray for rain.

Craigslist is always a good barometer for pricing, just ignore the occasional guys smoking crack who think their R* is Harley.

Good luck and let us know what you end up doing.

I'm in Kentucky and have seen some good deals, I found an 05 I liked with 12000 miles and showed it to my buddy. He wanted it so we picked it up on Saturday. He got it for $3800

Doc V is spot on, here in CA they tend to hold their value. However we also tend to pay more to begin with so I'd say it even's out.
Biggest thing is without bad winters we don't get anyone tired of their bike in the cold months that decides to sell. However we also ride more and nothing rusts.

Sounds OK, not spectacular. In 2012, I paid $6600 for my bone stock 2008 Silverado that has leather bags, windshield, sissy bar and pad and 7K miles.
