The pilot is not the one the needle controls. The needle works with the main jet. The pilot is the longer screw in jet next to the main jet. It has a fixed size orifice and supplies fuel in the lower to mid range and works along with the main jet in the mid range. The pilot is in play with most of your riding in town and lower speeds. is

is there any chance that you can post a pick of the plugs? I would like to see how dark they are. or send a pic to my email if you can't post one here.

Next time I pull them I will they are blacker than I would like if I could get 7 or 8 months on a set I would be fine because it’s not that simple to change plugs I spend a lot of time in the garage on the motorcycles maybe because I’m picky but I enjoy doing it between the Harley and the other two keeps me busy but now it’s cold so it’s mainly maintenance and changing stuff around and next year I think I’m going to add a ultra classic to the fleet want to have the fuel injected bike to the fleet and some cruise control like the roadstar but when something happens can’t just go to the dealer and have something in stock might strip the roadstar down some and give the wife something to ride then can ride the chopper some more for me
