Advice Needed on Turn Signal Wiring 2 Years, 10 Months ago
Well it's spring...time to tinker. Before launching, thanks to all the help / advice provided...

Decided to shorten the "arms" on my rear turn signal arms to tighten it up, and am installing new lights.

Bought a 5-4 trailer adaptor, and dual filament light fixture to use my signals as RTB.

Plan was to use the low wattage filament as the running light, and the high wattage filament as brakes and signals.

Already have a modulator in the turn signal circuit and was simply going to use that output as the input to the signal input on the 5-4

SO here is the question. Being a simpleton...I reaize the wiring right now 2 wire for power/ground. I am assuming I have to use the "ground wire" as the second power wire for the other filament.

So how do I ground the lights?

thanks!!!

a dual filament bulb still uses only 1 ground, the outer housing is the ground, the pins are the hot 12v.

Thank you for the answer. So...I need to find a way to connect a wire to the shell of the socket to create a ground lead, which I can then run through the mounting tubes and connect to the system ground? Am I getting that correctly?
