I've seen a few of our Celina friends marked as "safe" over on the FB page. Prayers sent for all in the area.

A tornado in November? In Ohio? Is this normal?

Not at all. But there was a abnormal warm snap that day.

It’s been twenty plus years ago, but I was about 15 minutes behind one that crossed I-55 south of Bloomington in Illinois, this time of year.
It happens. Summer and winter are struggling for control. Old man winter always wins this time of year. Come Spring, the struggle begins again.

Great Lakes region sees all kinds of nasty weather in late October/November. Most extreme low pressures (non hurricane)are all recorded around here in the fall. Although, Celina is a bit south of where the usual action happens.
Google Great Lakes storms for some fascinating reading if you have a few minutes.
Late October 2010. Lowest non hurricane pressure ever recorded in the US. It was consistent with low pressure readings in a category 3 hurricane. I think that one affected the Chicago area

It is wild to see the pictures and video from there. I was glad to see the safe updates coming in on Facebook.

“Superior they say never gives up her dead, when the gales of November come early”
I saw an article awhile back where they are mapping and identifying the numerous wrecks in at least one of the Great Lakes. I think they were giving some thought to promoting some sort of diving project to encourage tourism.
