oil leak 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago
Rode for about two hours put the bike in the garage. Two days later I noticed several drops of oil from the lower front of the engine. Oil level was right at the top of the grid on the dip stick. It got really cold the two days after my ride. Cleaned it off and rode again today for a hour and no leak. any ideas? Could the temps being in the single digits cause something like this?

The only engine oil leak I have ever seen on these bikes (besides a leaky drain plug) is from the O-ring on the steel oil lines on the lower right side of the engine. If that is what you find I can send you a couple of the O-rings. When I bought them I had to buy a pack of 10 so I have extra.

Did it leak from the left or right of the lower front of the engine? Get down and see where the drip is. And remember, don’t use the duo stick. You can easily over fill it. Put 4 quarts in at the oil change and forget it. Any more than 4 and it will often push it out.

Mine have done that twice in the last 150,000 miles. Both times it was the oil filter had wiggled slightly loose.

I was going to say the same... my only oil leak was from an oil filter. Great first place to start.

When I bought my 2000 it had what looked like an oil leak on the left side of the front cylinder head cover.
I popped the tank off to figure out what I was looking at because I couldn't really see where the stains were coming from.
Turns out it was gas seeping right through the 'likely original' rubber fuel line & turning brown from the rubber.

This fits in here, right? I mean, I can make this fit in here ... right?

OK, looks like the oil line o-ring. I assume that I will need to drain the oil to replace the o-ring, right?

I would just to be safe and not make a mess. I replaced them a couple years ago on the Eagles bike and really don't remember if I drained it all or just leaned it on the side stand and lost just a little bit.
