I like a little color. The work in progress look last for awhile though, so maybe next fall would be a good target for the painting. By then a color may have attached itself to the back of your eye....or Amy may be more inclined to tell you what color it should be.

Everyone that sees the bike says I should leave the tank bare .... just clear coat it. Opinions?
That's kind of been my thought all along. Looks good with the bare metal. Just have to make sure it's a matte clear... Shiny clear just doesn't look right over bare metal. At that point, you might as well just paint it silver like your helmet.
The slightest bit of rust patina adds an extra dimension. And a you can't got wrong with a *little* bit of pin striping. Can't link directly to the photo, but here's an example.

There's also the sanded paint look... .This is kind of nice too...

Ya I think I will think about it for a while. In the mean time I will enjoy it and still have to finish Amy's butt brace! She's been on my butt to get it done...
Also on my ride yesterday I have decided the forward controls I bought are a little slippery. Might wrap the pegs in grip tape or something

So I think I might put the stock foot controls back on. Will make for a more relaxing ride on my feets with the floor boards. If I do end up doing this I will remove the Yamaha rubber floor board grips and think up something to throw in there. I've seen diamond plate and even stained wood! I was thinking tire tread or something like that. Something different but subtle.
