I suppose once you get it in the right position this one would be pretty darn comfy.

I run a Kuryakyn driver's backrest with no rear seat but a rack. It has big adjustments on the install with a set screw for moving the pad up or down as well as front and back.
It mounts under the passenger seat bracket if you want a rear seat.
I eliminated that low back ache I would get after about 50 miles. I've put as much as 750 miles on in a day using it and never will be without it again.
I had a Mustang solo with backrest on another bike and this Kuryakyn is much more comfortable for me.

Do you have any pics of this setup? I'm looking at doing the same ... rider/driver backrest with a fender rack. I'm really curious how it would look.

Which drivers backrest is the best....I say none. As in don't need or want one. Long trips solo I slap my backpack on the seat behind me. Done. Day trips who would need one? Plsu they look stupid (IMHO).
Again, that's me though so I have no doubt I'm in the mnority.

i purchased the grasshopper backrest a few months ago and honestly was amazed by the quality for the price, studded and shipped for $85, the quick detach isnt the greatest thing in the world but it works well and it very comfortable.

Why not just order out solo backrest? Great comfort, matches the seat, and is completely adjustable, folds down into the seat for easy entry and is adjustable on the fly with clutch hand.

$230 plus shipping.

Heres a couple pics when I had it mounted on my bike:
