So now after awhile I have an issue. 26 MPG! That was with the custom Map. With Autotune off.
Now that i have turned on Autotune again. it is about 30-32 but that's just while running. I have not applied the trims yet. Seems the custom map is already taking much fuel away and I am the top of my lean area.

Advice - help? Adding BAK seems would be more air and needing even more fuel.

Should I just get the stock O2 sensors to fit the Cobra pipes and take all the PCV and stuff off? Getting O2 sensors to fit will be the only challenge but can be done.

Am I missing something?

Maybe you are finding out what other FI owners have......scrap the Power Commander and run the stock ECU.

I think those custom maps work by providing fueling for a given ride. You can apply them but if things change they might not, I don't know.

The stock O2 sensors are constantly updating the ECU many times per second. The mixture is being adjusted at least on every exhaust stroke and "sees" every dip or rise in the road. I don't think you'll ever get your fuel mileage back without reinstalling them. The thing you have to be careful about is increasing the airflow through the engine to the point it runs too lean.

If the PC had a mode where it wasn't used during normal closed loop operation that would be ideal. One would have to learn at what throttle position/rpm the system went to open loop though. One way to tell is by monitoring the O2 sensors. When the system goes to open loop they will read a high (0.9 rich) voltage and stay there.

The PC is handy for lowering the fuel cut rpm to less than stock. This should eliminate any popping even with the AIS still installed. The AIS serves a very important purpose. Folks experiencing California smog should understand.

Looks like the O2 sensors that are installed for the Autotune are working as advertised. I get some time to ride and play with it I will make a determination. Tomorrow I should be in contact with a person that may be able to dial me in.

Other option is take off the PCV. Hook up the stock O2's again.

Now I do know for a fact that the ECM for an FI can be adjusted for AFR. It can be done for each cylinder independently. You can richen or lean. The procedure is not something that is common knowledge. I haven't done it but have seen it done.

As of now I went from 26 MPG with the MAP. Turned on Autotune and after 50 miles was at 30. After another 50 was at 32.

I'm willing to battle and learn and see what happens but this will be resolved before Spring riding kicks in.

I'm curious how you know this. Can you direct us to a document or something. Are you thinking of a Roadstar Warrior? I understand they are adjustable, but not ours.

What you have probably seen is the CO% being adjusted to balance the cylinders. This is done at idle. Apparently there is a place out there than can disassemble the ECU, find and reprogram the chip. They claim to be able to lower the cut RPM among other things.

Where, who, how? What is the "cut" RPM? Inquiring minds want to know! Thanks...
