I just ordered a new one from TimB, $70 shipped.

Well darn! Here I thought we had another convert.

I was real close but figured I would give it one more try, still have the fear of messing with the carb so maybe if this one dies. I think this one went because I have been closing the petcock prior to shutting down the motor due to the carb puke issue and the pump was running dry. Does that make sense or am I way off base on that?

It's possible I suppose, that it was making it work harder......maybe. Getting rid of the pump, would have gone a long way toward ending the carb puke issues. We'll get ya next time. I'm sorry your so far away, it's a relatively easy fix once you have the pieces collected.

If thats an offer I will keep it in mind if I decide to go pumpless. I like to ride up your way a couple times a year.

It's an offer. Just make sure I'll be around, and that we have enough time to collect the grizzly valve. It took me ten times as long to run the stuff down, as it did to do the actual work. When you get ready to head this way, let me know, and I'll give you some contact info and directions.
I'm just a few miles south of I-10, right after you cross over the Blackwater River.

signalzero --- you got a new Yamaha OEM pump for $70 shipped? Our local dealer wants something in the $165 range for that part new

He accidentially misquoted the price, it's actually $120 shipped.

I took mine off, was working great before I removed it. You can have it for the price of shipping. PM me if you're interested. Has plug, bracket, filter, cover, the works. you could just bolt it on instead of disassembling to add it in.
