Tuning carb in S.W Michigan 1 Year, 7 Months ago
Anyone around southwest Michigan great at tuning carbs? I have the full barons kit and have jetted BUT it's just not right.... Seems like it should pull better at full throttle... My current setup is,,,..

K&n rc1980
Vance and hines long shots
167.5 main "thinking about stepping up"
37.5 pilot.
Pms about 2.5.
4th groove I believe.. I used the setup I was recommended by everyone to a T.

At full throttle it seems like it should pull better and when I let off a little it actually pull better then it has at full throttle...

put a 170 main jet in it and make sure the needle clip is in the 4th groove

Yep. That woke the bike up. Swapped the jet, I also removed the sending unit and repaired that oh and I removed the screen on the gas intake to the carb... All in all it runs a lot better...

If you ever want to bounce something off someone local and get another set of eyes on it for any reason, give me a yell. I'm just north of Parchment in SW MI. More than glad to lend a hand, wrench or just an eyeball!! LOL Dave got you on the right track though it sounds.

No helping now, but I'm up near you every weekend in the winter (and next weekend).

If you need help with the carb,
I could help by asking Dave what you should do to fix it.
