Tire life? 9 Months ago
How much life do you get out of tires on this bike? The PO said he got about 3-4K per set. I had 12k on my v-star and tires still looked new.

Not looking forward to replacing tires twice a year.

I have about 10,000 on mine now, and they don't look bad.

Most everybody on here, has managed to get at a minumum of 8k out of even the worst tires....unless they were practicing burnouts.
Keep the air pressure where it needs to be. Close to 40 front and rear should do the best. If you start getting below 36, then the wear will probably increase, and the handling will go down hill.

Ok. He only had about 15 psi in the tires when I got the bike. Aired up to 40/40 right now

Tire pressure also depends some on your weight. I run 36 front and 38 rear and they wear even. I got 19K out of my last set of Metzeler 880s.

13-15k out of my previous three sets of Dunlops. Have a set of Michelin Commander IIs on now and they look to last longer.

I've got one rear tire that's getting down to only maybe 2-3,000 miles left. It's got 24,000 miles on it now. Of course the Austone is a tire many bikers don't use because of some reason. Works for me. It's a radial and I run 32# in it. On yesterday's ride I carried a total rider/passenger weight of 550# which is common.

Turn and lean more. You'll spread the miles across your tire. Ride upright and straight... get yer wallet out sooner
