Freedom Duals, another Question 5 Years, 7 Months ago
Hi All, another question for those of you with Freedom Duals.
When you put the left bracket on, it goes on the back two bolts
of the front pulley cover and the two bolts in back of them, does
the bracket replace the 4 spacer washers or do you need the spacers
too?

Keep in mind you have a whole new designed set and we have no pics of the brackets to look at. On my ”old” style freedoms on the left the muffler bracket replaced the mount for the front pulley to the frame of the bike.. But again you are one of the first people to install the new style so they could be very different... Cant expect us to know how new product mounts and pics would help us to help you.

I understand this smoke, but Freedom doesn't have any special instructions for
the new pipes. they say they install just like the old ones, but of course they
didn't send the old instructions so I'm flying blind. On your left side did you
leave the Silverado bracket off? What about the spacer washers behind it?

I took pics of my instructions and was downsizing them when I thought I read u had it under control except for the brake hose clamp...so I deleted them.

Mine says.."install left side mounting bracket..save the stock bolts to re use .

I don't think I re used the spacers. Hope it helps.

I looked in my box and if you reuse the stock bolts you would have to leave out the spacers. Because the stock bolts will be to short. I'm gonna wait till winter to do mine.

The bracket that connects the pulley to the frame needs to remain unless the bracket for the pipes spans both the pulley and the frame.

This bracket is used stabilize the pulley assembly from the torque forces. The Silverado also has the same connector between the case and the frame on the right side.

Thanks Doc, The bracket does span the pulley assembly so you don't need the Silverado
bracket. Also you don't need the spacers. Does anyone know right off hand what the
torque is for the flange nuts? Things are going much better this morning (cooler)
I can see without all that sweat in my eyes. Sorry if I ruffled any feathers.
