Of all the things that might be on the road.
Can you imagine and it went all the way inside the tire.

Yeah.
In my bad luck, I was still lucky.
I felt the bike starting to waunder on the road at 40mph, so I was able to slow down to a stop fairly easy. Had to rent a special trailer to haul the bike home. But still cheaper than having it towed.

Can the tire be fixed? i had an 1100 V Star with a plug but someone mentioned the tire was toast. I rode the bike like that with no problems until sold. Discounted the bike so the guy could get new rubber as I wasn't 100% sure it was safe.

Cast wheel or spokes? Cast wheel I would have plugged it and been on my way. Even if it took 2 plugs

And it was in metric, so you can still use it on your bike!

That's one way to increase your tool collection.
Front tire kicked it up. The odds were pretty high to get it to land just right that the back tire would get impaled with it rather than just kick it to the curb.

After that happened to my brother on a ride I started carrying a small 12v compressor in my bags along with a plug kit.

Same thing happened to me on an almost brand new Commander II a year and a half ago. Not sure of the exact size allen wrench but it was small too.
Felt the back end getting squirrely while exiting the freeway a few miles from home.
Since I have an '01 with tubes, just bought a new tube and called it good. Been riding it like that ever since.
