2018 NW Starfest Planning Thread 3 Months, 1 Week ago
OK, Here it is the planning thread for the 2018 NW Starfest!

The questions are the usual, Who, what, where and when?

So are we going to keep with the same dates and have it the 2nd weekend in July?

I'd love to do Southern Oregon, but I'm not too picky, If needed I have a large 5th wheel Toy hauler to use as a base if we were to go someplace and camp/hotel it vs at someones home/business location.

Let's hash it out!

Yay! I'm good with the same dates. What about John Day as a site? Talk to one of those motels and pull the 5th wheel up there.
Steve! What did the doctor say?
Jay! How's it going?

Has anyone rode the John Day highway or any part of it?? Say from Boise Idaho to Mount Hood?

I haven't rode it but driven it many times. Nice highway good scenery, but some of the more secondary highways are really gorgeous. I was looking around John Day for rides and possible lodging and I found a great motel in Spray Oregon that has RV parking, as well as a 3 bedroom house to rent. Looking at what we could do for rides around there and I have one really nice one - about 230 miles. another is a ride to Sumpter to see the Sumpter Dredge and it's a cool little town too

Sounding good! Hey Jay, post some of those maps you do for routes. Lots of good loops out that way. Rode into Spray last year from Service Creek, awesome road. Hwy 19 would be cool. Up to Fossil and Hwy 218. 218 if i remember right was awesome and could stop in Antelope for lunch, just watch out for rattlesnakes. Hwy 207 out of Service Creek to Painted Hills and back on Hwy 26 is a cool ride. No hot doggin on 207 though.

Spray to Sumpter is a nice ride and Sumpter is a cool little place. Could then go to Granite ghost town (almost) then thru Ukiah and back to Spray, that would be a good ride.

Hey Motorcycler, I see we got you nibbling, join in so we can set the hook.
