I've found ebay to be a good source of mikuni jets and at really cheap prices too. I.e. $2.00 to $4.00 a piece plush shipping… Also, FYI- a #40 may be listed as an 040.

Go to any HD or other bike dealership and ask for a "Mikuni HSR #40 pilotjet" it is the same pilot jet the Mikuni CV40 carb uses. Or Here are two site you can get them from. PJU is my favorate and might as well get you a few (12) of those .020 washers while you are at it.
