unplug the connector under the seat where it goes under/into the rear fender and check for power there. That will help to narrow down the area that the power loss exist.

There is a connector under the fender for each wire in the rear as well. May want to check and make sure it didn't come loose. Blue or yellow wife ( not sure which off hand)

The brake light has a ground in the light housing/mount. That ground being off (easy to check) would defeat either switch. The sinaling fuse provides voltage to the Brown circuit wire which both front and rear brake switches are connected to. When either switch is closed, the 12 volts goes across the switch and via Yellow wire goes to the connecter under the seat, and continued yellow wire to the tail light, right up to the socket. You say you don't read voltage. Check the signal fuse. If it's good, chase the yellow wire. If it's not, find out what shorted the Brown wire.

Also, make sure the wires are seated all the way in the connectors.

There are two fuses. The "LIGHTS" fuse is for head and tail lights and running lights. The "SIGNAL" fuse is for turn signals, stop lights and horn.
