Nemesis intake manifold ... 5 Months, 1 Week ago
I know this is likely a long shot ... but does anyone know where I can get my hands on a Nemesis intake for an 02 R☆ / 1600?

Actually, the proper term for what he was doing is polishing. In order to "port" (more accurately, port matching" the work has to be done to match the specific port of the specific head. He mainly smoothed out and removed some of the rubber corners. While he also opened up the mating surface, it wasn't actually porting.

I have one and it ain't polished. It is meant to compete with Barons "ported" manifold which is the way they advertise it not polished.

I will not ever, never, not even with a hat on or sitting in a chair, standing on a ladder or driving in a car a boat or riding on a bike, agree that it requires different jetting. If there is more air flow throught the throat(which has a 40mm restriction minus the space the throttle plate takes up), the venturi will compensate by delivering more fuel, via the main circuit. If your Main jet is already to small, then it is the fault of improper jetting, and not because the manifold was ported.

Just my $.02. Since it is my $.02. it is worth considerbly less then others.

As mentioned, Curt 'bless his heart for the generous soul he still is' is no longer able to do the porting as he has in the past.

Just to throw another log on the fire.

I'd call it porting. Yes, it may not be a perfect match to the intake port in the heads, but he removes the excess material. The surface is rough however. Not the smooth slick "polished" surface one associates with a "Ported and polished" set of heads for example. Considering the intake manifold aids in the mixing of the air and fuel as it travels all of about 4 to 5 inches from the carb to the heads, the rougher surface may help by encouraging the air to tumble and roll more then a super slick polished surface would.
(*Fair warning)This is just my idea. I'm not a trained professional. Furthermore, no one other then a few slow witted individuals, has ever ventured to suggested I was brighter then average. Butt Hay. I'm a racist slow witted dullard, because I live in the south, have grey hair, and wouldn't be intimidated by a herd of lemmings into voting for Hillary.

That sound you hear way off in the distance? That's little furry bodies thumping and squishing on the rocks at the bottom of a very long drop.

I'll never quite comprehend the fascination with the Nemesis manifold. A bit like carrying a silk purse on a Mahindra. I do however believe if they still made them they would have sold a few more. Quite a few probably. It's all good for the economy. As a man who has been suckered by the Sirens call to throw dollars upon rocks in the purchase of shiny fishing lures and the like, I probably would even own one. That might change my opinion. Maybe. If, they included a hat and some stickers for my tool box.

BTW, I concur with your assessment.

Sounds like there is some confusion between the term porting,
and port-matching...
