Yeah that shock really makes it a better bike. If you haven't yet, do the front. I went Racetech and the whole package is so much better. Settled on rough pavement and no more dive on braking. Night and day.
Gotta agree with Kyle more info on that monster 68 would be good.

Here’s a +1 on the Racetech setup for the front also. It’s a must if you want the best handling Roadstar.

Yeah, if you bring up Race Tech emulators on FB one "guy" will tell you how they suck and he got the wrong parts and they caused his fork seals to blow out, etc.
Those that have installed them, with or without my guidance, and the half dozen or so sets I have installed myself have never had these issues, so you will find your grain of salt in the shaker in front of you if you hear that garbage. Race Tech front and Roadwing rear is not the only way to get a Road Star riding like it should, but it's probably the most cost effective.

I'd imagine the only thing that would cause fork seals to blow out, is if some really smart "guy" overfilled the forks, by not following directions. Just a WAG on my part.

How about the Progressive Suspension Fork Springs as an alternative to Race Tech?

Progressives are ok BUTT, what you dont get with the progressives are springs that are matched to your weight that you do get from Race Tech. From what I have seen, the progressives still tend to nose dive a little as they have a softer spring rate in the beginning. And if you really want the best setup for handling from the Roadie, you really need to do the emulators as well to tune the WHOLE suspension up front. Progressive doesnt do emulators so you would still be going to Race Tech for them.

just my 1/2 pennies worth

Rod
