What a great trip down memory lane. Great presentation. Not heavy on technical comparisons, which was nice, but rather on his own personal knowledge and clean ability to articulate. Nice piece, Shores.
My life as a young teenager revolved around the Honda CB750. First drooling over it for years until I finally owned one when I was 18. Two wheels have been in my blood all these years.

Being two stroke, how did they compare to the Road Stars in speed? Were they faster bikes than ours? I had a 2 stroke Yamaha 250 back in 1972, and I remember it going like stink when I hammered it. I crashed it at slow speed into a fence, but only bent front render slightly, then traded it for a 1967 Corvair. I smashed and wrote off the Corvair. A very bad accident when I was 16. I think I suffered brain damage now looking back from today, and now finally realizing it. either that of a bad planner in retirement skills. I remember wandering around during school hours and not knowing how I got there. To this day I get very confused trying to find places, even if I have been there before. I get lost easily. Funny how I make a living repairing technical things on equipment. Mechanical, electrical and plumming self taught but cannot navagate for the life of me. Man, am I ever off topic!

This brings back so many memories growing up in the seventies. My second street bike was a 750 Honda when I was 18. I became obsessed with trying to make my 750's faster than the Kawasaki 900. I owned about 5 or 6 750's both K model and the Supersport F model. I had bored out the 750's to 836, 900 and 1080cc. So here is another another video about the 750 and 900.

Here's a picture of the bike that inspired me. Russ Collins later made a V-8 out of 2 back to back 750's.
The Kawasaki was definetly a faster and better looking bike, I guess it was just a challenge to make mine faster.
Now I just like to go slow and easy and enjoy the scenery.
