A Smart car get 50-up MPG regardless of what kind of driving you do. My brother has a 2011 Vette, 2008 Porsche Carerra and a 2015 Smart car and most of the time he drives the Smart car. I have driven it and it is really kind of fun to drive even though it looks silly. They are made by Mercedes Benz (Just FYI)

Wow davej, I honestly thought you would have converted the smart car to hayabusa engine already.

From what my brother has told me he gets 50+ mpg but He has never said anything higher. I would think if he ever hit 60 mpg he would have said so. He also only uses it around town so I'm not sure if he has had a chance to see what HWY mpg would be. I don't know if you have had a chance to drive 1 but if you have the opportunity you should take 1 out for a spin. The shifting is really something to get used to. They are kind of a automatically shifting stick shift. It has and automatic clutch in it. The car pushes in the clutch and also shifts the trans for you. Not like a automatic trans, you can feel the car doing all of this. Hard to explain you have to drive it to understand.

They are also probably 1 of the safest cars on the road. They are basically a grand Prix roll cage surrounded by a plastic body and 8 airbags. I've even thought about buying 1 just for around town.

At least it isn't a hybrid. That would really call for a smug alert.

You can buy 1 a couple years old for less than 8K. Now back to the original thread subject.

Besides that, getting a little off track isn't a big deal when we are waiting for you to report back with some more findings after the subject opinions were made. We're just killin time.
