Anyone have success modifying the Cobra 2 into 1 baffle to make a deeper tone? Mine is making that sound that indicates leaking exhaust, but I can't find a leak, and I would like to drop the tone to a lower note.

Sub'd ....
I want to tinker with my baffle as well...
From what I can tell it's just 3 bolts/screws holding it in place?

You may want to head over to my post on the V&H Pro Pipe. I also have been pulling my hair out trying to get mine toned down. Might as well be running straight pipes. I think the Cobra and V&H pro pipes are designed about the same.

Just for kicks I fired it up with out the baffle.... that is the definition of LOUD!!!

I only have two Allen head bolts holding in each baffle.

There is actually a cone shape to the baffle which seems to me would make it louder. Not really any way to add a bit of wadding to it either.

I don't see any alternative baffles available.

I've been looking to put a longer tip on mine. Problem I've been having is that they exhaust doesn't come past my bags so if someone could help me out with finding a tip that would be great! Maybe even change the tone as well.....

I have put the HK baffle insert that goes up into the baffle. and repacked the end piece with muffler packing... I do this about once a year... hint! Replace the button head bolts with a standard bolt head... Makes for easier removal. the HK baffle will deepen the tone... and quieten it down a little.

Re:Cobra 2 into 1 2 Years, 8 Months ago
I am trying to locate some steel or brass screen material for my baffle. I will take a picture of what I finally ended up with and post it. Essentially, after about 4 attempts at building a better baffle I ended up taking the original back to it's stock form and added an extension. The original I have posted a picture of below. The end is closed off and I added an additional 8" of 2 1/4" exhaust pipe that I drilled out and welded to the end. To get the exhaust to flow into the extension I cut out a metal circle and welded it to the end so that it just fits into the exhaust and seals in front of the header pipe. The gasses are now forced into the extension and out into the megaphone chrome pipe before being forced through the 1/2" openings in the original baffle. It really helped dampen the sound down. To further reduce the noise I picked up about 4 SS pot scrubbers that look like doughnuts and slid them down the pipe over the original baffle. Now it's got a nice low rumble without being obnoxious. Why I need the screen is the SS pieces are small enough that some are poking through the holes and may be plugging the outlets. The screen will act as a separator to keep the SS threads out of the holes and improve airflow.

HMMM. I have the part in the link. I wonder how it works. Looks like a pretty serious choke on the exhaust. The site says the baffle should have some packing. Mine does not.

My baffle also does not look anything like the one in the last posted picture. But they redesigned this system and did away with the cone shaped tail pipe. mine is the older version that is tapered and has a long tapered baffle as well.

The Cobra power pro HP 2 into 1 has the packing at the end of the baffle. The HK insert baffle goes up inside the Stock baffle, and does not choke it down. A good 2 into 1 pipes, will give you an increase in HP and Torque.. It is best performance mod I have done on my bike.
