Hey guys just wanted to re-introduce myself. I have been gone a couple years and actually thought I was going to have to sell my 2007 Silverado. Thankfully I didnt so I am back. I made a big mistake though. She's been sitting two years. Her battery was toast even with the battery tender so its been replaced but now the bike will not run. Took the carb off to clean and tank off to clean. Tank has some rust inside, carb main jet had rotted in two. I have never seen that. the bike would idle with the choke all the way out at first and die if you put it in. Before I took it apart it would only idle with the choke all the way in and if you didnt touch the throttle. Touch the throttle it instantly died. It dies as if you just cut the key off. I ordered the parts from my Yamaha dealer to replace the main jet, carb bolts, bowl oring but I am thinking about also ordering the barons kit because I did the stage three mod from here when she was new so the pipes are open and it probably needs Baron's help. Sad a bike with less than 5000 miles on it without so much as a scratch on the paint or blemish on the chrome wont run. But its my fault and I have to get her back. I know this was a long post but I just wanted to reintroduce myself. I have extra time on my hands because I was a Purchasing Agent for Alpha Natural Resources a coal company out of Bristol VA and got hit with one of the many layoffs in the coal industry right now. As soon as I get back on my feet I want to start donating again like I used to cause I know it cost alot to maintain a site. Anyways, glad to be back, Im sure I'll have a ton of dumb questions  |

Welcome back to the RSC!
If you pick up a jetting kit, just start with the same parts that were in her before. After you get it running, then start playing with adjustments. It will be a lot easier to figure out whats wrong with one change at a time.  |

Liquid_Edge glad to have you back. As for making donations to the clinic Gram has it set up not the advertisers pay to place their adds at the bottom of the page and that pays for the site cost so don't worry about donations any more. As for the bike change the fuel filter and all gas put a little seafoam or ring free in the gas. Take the carb off and have it vatted if you can afford it because it sounds like you still have a lot of crap in the carb passages you may even have to replace the sile rubber and all rubber o-rings. |
