Not going or trying to start ANOTHER oil debate. Oil is oil long it has no friction modifiers you can run it. The best oil is clean oil. Ive dont tons of lab test on dino and synthetic oils from belray,amsoil,mobil 1 to castrol,golden spectro,yamalube ,rotella and maxima. There are very few top name oils I have not sent off to be checked. I can say that rotella dino oil is a very good oil and holds visc and shear grade as good or better than most of these high dollar synthetic oils. I know lots of engine builders and not one says anything bad about MAXIMA racing oils or Torco racing oils. But heard lots of things about amsoil. I guess its one of those things run what you want but to sit here and say nothing is better than amsoil is too funny. Amsoil is and becoming "was" the king of marketing there synthetics.. I ran it in my dirt bikes for years and was a dealer for them but after heavy lab testing that oil is not all what they make it out to be. So far, Maxima,Torco and one Redline label oil has been at the top of all test. Rotella is also a great oil there dino is great stuff and so is there synthetic. If I was to pick one for my 08 roadie it def would be Maxima 20/50 fully ester synthetic "extra". The compnay Maxima is socal calls there oils "Overkill" and thats just what it is.

Sounds like same filter sold under another name what one is less expensive. I like reusable and long life products such as tires, oil, and filters. If it does what they say it does it's got to be good deal.

Hi Guys . I used Amsoil on my bike it has 17,000 miles on it . That oil has burned up my Clutch , Cost me $475.02 to replace whole new cluth things . Thanks to suckers of amsoil . it does not match for the clutch .Also made my bike so hot when stop and go . I was very very dispointment about it . I learn my lession it not worth it using amsoil . So hope you guys don't get burned out clutch by the Amsoil . Amsoil is good for Harley with High comperssures and others. Good luck with it brothers!!! B

Well good thing you had Amsoil. Your in good luck it has a warranty. They have independent lab test the sample of oil you take out and if was the Amsoil that made all that fail (Oil anylisis will tell) and you kept the UPC code from the oil and the filter and record of installed miles. They will pay for your engine repair in full.

So, get you proof of installed miles,
Your receipt of purchase (If you are a customer you have an account number too)
UPC code form the EA filter box.
UPC code from oil container (If you used one gallon it makes it easy)
Take a sample of the oil in a oil analysis kit sample container (One for you one for them same oil)
Brief description what happened.
Go to Amsoil site and find who to call and where to send all that and they will buy the engine.

However, if you used amsoil in hopes of curing a problem going mad anyways. The metallurgy can tell and that won't be covered. Our engines have weak threads on the clutch anyways and I can just bet it was going anyways. your money for Amsoil would have been better spent on a new Clutch and new bolts the factory ones are known to be junk and Amsoil may know that too.

I ran Amsoil in my 07 under heavy load (Beyond Factory Spec) Two Up, a weeks worth of gear for two, From July Ohio Heat to Skyline drive down to Blue ridge Parkway, Up the Tail of the Dragon, Across TN to AL all the way south to Mobile Bay in extreme Heat Over to New Orleans and got caught in a severe traffic jam that had my engine boiling red hot stop and high 90's heavy humidity, and then changed it out at over 8K miles on the oil and it looked like it could have ran another 4K miles. And last year I ran it from Fall to summer from like 60's temp to below 15 degrees to high 90's for 8K also and no problems.

I think your problem would have happen no matter what was in there.

I agree with MS1700 I also have used Amsoil in all my cars, bikes, and trucks, and have been doing so for over 9 years. In that time I sold and installed Amsoil oil into a friends 3/4ton pickup used as a parts and delivery truck for a small buisness. The owner was excited to use it and possibly get a little better mileage, longer oil life between changes, and longer engine life. As soon as we started the truck up and it ran for 10 minutes it leaked oil everywhere. My customer said get that $h*t out of there and never again. I ask again as I had asked before installing the oil and filter if the engine was in good to very good condition, he had said it was. Now he confesses the engine has over 150K and was hoping to save this motor with this miracle oil I was selling. IT DON'T WORK THAT WAY, IT WON'T FIX WORN OUT LIFTERS, VALVES, PISTON RINGS, OIL PUMPS, OR OTHER LUBERICATING PARTS. If I was using the right product that was recommened for my bike and it caused damage. My proof of damage, purchase dates, installation dates, would be in a nice easy to read package and sent straight to the company responsible for the damage I can now prove was the companies fault,and demand to be made whole.
