Coming out of winter storage 2 Years, 11 Months ago

Getting started in the spring has always taken a bit of doing, but never this level. Bought a new battery and put it in even. Cranks and cranks. Stabilized the fuel in the fall, shut it off, and ran it in the garage until it died to run the bowl dry. Now it's cranking, and I can smell fuel, but just not catching. On the first day, it sort of started, but sputtered and wouldn't stay running. Now I can't even get it to do that. I took off the air cleaner yesterday(2nd day) and let it air out figuring I flooded it a few times. It was running a bit rich last fall.
I should mention it's been 50F at peak, and never liked to start in the cold. Usually after initially firing her up and riding around, I'm fine for the duration of the season.

Can you hear the fuel pump running to fill the carb? With the filter off hit it with some starter fluid.

Pumpless, and yes I could see fuel squirting into the carb. I think i'm going to take the carb off this week and clean it up and finally get it properly tuned.

Is it cranking over real fast or kinda slow? In the cold weather mine was doing the same until I put a boost to the battery and twisted the throttle a couple times. Then the next time I started it I twisted the throttle a couple times to many and flooded it but still needed to boost to get it going in temps of 30º-35º. My battery is also good just needed that little bit of help. After the bike had been warmed up it would start fine.

It's going fast enough, I also added my charger set at 15a during starting to help it get moving. I know i flooded it a couple times, and let it dry out, but it just didn't want to start for anything.

Not a big fan of 'running an engine dry' if proper measures were taken to stabilize the fuel. The rubber tip on the float needle can dry out and not seat properly when turning the petcock back on.
Exposing anything fuel related (tank, lines, carb etc.) to moisture laden air will only crud things up if not stored in a controlled environment. The tank is vented as well as the float bowl and will 'breathe' when exposed to wide temp variations.
If you're smelling strong gas fumes I'd say the needle and seat on the float it stuck open. Flooding is the only result.
Give the float bowl a couple raps with a screwdriver handle and see if it'll straighten up.
