4th Ignition moduel burnt out! 13 Years ago
Gram you are not going to belive it!
I am feeling blue!!!! This is really getting to be a drag!!!

This makes one Yamaha Star performance model and three Dyna 3000's to burn out.
I am going to run the stock moduel till it burns out so the shop can get paid for the warrenty work they have not been able to recoup as of yet. I have not been able to find any other people with this problem. Some have had one burnout but not "four".
I had a real nice ride at lunch, the bike felt as it was lifting the front wheel off the ground it was running so well! After work I could not get the choke to pull out but maybe a 1/4" so was using the throttle to warm it up. It quit and that was it. I put the stock unit in and got it home just fine.

I can't believe this Dick. I have never heard of anyone having more than one burn out. I don't want to wish you any bad luck, but I almost hope the stocker goes so that Yamaha will have to pay for some troubleshooting to find out what the problems is.

BTW.. Might want throw a few posts around and see if you can pick up someone's stock module that they replaced. That way you can keep an extra in your bag.

I have not had this problem with my bike, but I had a similar problem with a car. My brother (the mechanic) told me it was a ground problem. That not getting a full ground for a module will make it surge internally until it burns up. I did a little searching and found a proper way to get the module grounded and never had the problem again. It could be your ground cable on the bike is not connect properly, the module itself is not grounding. I would check with the Dyna manufacturer and see if they have any suggestions.
Good Luck
