cheapest fwd controls ever 1 Year, 6 Months ago
|
|
this was just playing around.
I have been messing with my bike all day. i had the floorboard pulled off while i was playing with the oexhaust. Later I pulled the rear passenger pegs off the bike. After a couple chilly ones while just sitting there looking at the bike I started thinking why not bolt the rear pegs onto the floorboards. But then they wouldn't fold up if they hit the ground. But if you mounted the along with the bracket then they would still fold up if they hit the ground.
This is not a way to make a nice set of fwds but could be modded to work and probably look 1/2 way decent for a rat bike.
the bracket in the pics is just held on with a c-clamp while I was playing around
After all, what is cheaper than just putting your passenger pegs on your floorboard brackets?

So is it going to require welding to permanently attach the pegs? How about dealing with the controls on the other side? I'd like to do this on my forthcoming bobber project as well; as long as it's bolt on. I can drill hols if need be, but I don't have access to welding, so I eagerly await your follow up... And more photos please!
it's just something I was playing with, but didn't actually do. Looks like you could use one hole that is already in the rear peg bracket. You would have to drill a second one. My need to cut some off of the bracket as well.
I bet floorboard extension would be nice.
I didn't try the shifter side, but looks like it would be the same. May have to loose the heel shifter though.
They wouldn't be the prettiest set of fwd controls but they would look fine from a few feet away
