Keyless ignition 12 Months ago
I saw an ad for keyless ignition and is suppose to be a universal setup. Its made by Digital Guard Dawg. Has anyone seen or tried this before? Would be nice on a new bike if Yamaha comes out with something.

I have a DGD Keyless system on mine. Easy install, works flawless.

I have one on my strat and it was not an easy install. I bought the one that was plug and play and apparently DGD had their head shoved up their asses the day they designed it. Plug and play my ass
It was designed to be installed in the headlight bucket. No room.
All the connectors they used were all wrong for the strat. Could have save money by buying the universal unit. But hey, once you figure out how and where, the product does work...

Just out of curiosity, why are you interested in a keyless ignition? Not something I've ever thought of, but I'm always happy to buy something new for my bike.

I have the DGD KIM-U unit installed. In the end I had to call the DGD tech to help me wire it up. They were very knowledgeable and helpful.

Works great. Have one Tag set up as manual and hidden on bike. The other Tag is automatic so the bike electronics are activated when I walk up to the bike.

I use keyless ignition as I have eliminated the stock dash and key switch.

Can you still use the key if needed though?

I can't cause I cut the stock ignition switch out of the circuit.

You could maintain the stock switch and splice the wires from the keyless unit into the stock switch circuit. You would have to figure out how one or the other would be used to turn on bike. Most likely just a switch.
