Much more stable. Once when my Strat was on the Jack I was wrestling a front tire on and almost pushed the bike off the jack. Also protects my jack when washing the bike. Ruined the cylinder rusted and pitted on my last jack. Stability is the main reason. Bike is solid as a rock on it. You lift the bike with the jack you roll the stand it from the other side. Its frame fits around the jack. Lower the bike and pull the jack out of the way.
