Question on Silverado Windshield 7 Years, 11 Months ago
Just wondering if anyone has come up with a way to keep the lower part of the windshield clean? I'm talking about where it gets dirty between the two pieces of clear. I have bugs and grime between the two and don't know of any way to clean other than taking the windshield off and seperating the two pieces. Any thoughts of ideas on a way to stop this from getting nasty? It looks horrible after you spend a couple of hours cleaning and you can still see this.

I just take it apart and clean it once in a while. Doesn't look new but what the heck.

You might take it apart and clean it then after putting it back together run a bead of clear silicone across the edges to prevent the dirt from getting in there again.

I agree with musky don't worry about it. Just get out and ride. But silicone sounded like a good way to prevent grime/dirt getting in between.

paint the inside of it black, so when you clean the outside it looks clean again...

The problem with sealing it up is it will probably create condensation. Which if the dirt bothers you the water probably will too but since you sealed it up you won't be able to get it out.

Got tired of that same thing.Bought a new headlite cover for $12. Glued it to the windshield using "insta-cure+".I believe the the trade name is cyanoacrylate. It is crazy glue on steroids. You will find it at hobby shops as it is used on the nitro cars and rc air planes. Just a few spaced drops at the bottom of the wind shield.

I had thought about the silicone but didn't know how that would look over time. Might have to think about the black paint. I guess for the time being I will do as musky says and learn to live with it. Does a windshield bag cover this area completely?
