Re:Rumble on decel 4 Years, 10 Months ago
Thank you to everyone who has chimed in on this matter.

The AIS is removed appropriately (sorry, forgot to mention that). I did a lot of tweeking with the PMS and riding in the last hour and really no change.

I think blue star may be right that it is just normal with a straight through exhaust. Mr_Shamrock hit the nail on the head when he described it as a "fluffing" sound. In this case a very loud and annoying fluffing sound.

Baffles are going back in (with the fiber wrap removed). It seems to be that there is may be just too much air being allowed to flow back into the exhaust without any restriction. I really don't know for sure. Just my guess.

Thanks.

If you don't do your own work, have your guy re-torque those exhaust manifold nuts too. A heat cycle or two after installation, then about 250 miles and a few decent rides, check them again. Once the torque stabilizes, they stay torqued, but I've had pipes that took 3-4 go-arounds with the torque wrench and heat cycles before they settled down. Those fancy exhaust nuts are expensive too.

Hey Blackroadie. Actually, I live in Minnesota, so a meet and greet in Wisconsin is definetly not out of the question. Keep me informed on this. If I can find the time to take off work, I'd definetly ride out.

Good point jd750ace. Definetly something I'll have him do. Once I can get into a house instead of this stupid apartment where they don't let us do any work here whatsoever, I'll be doing all my own work. Until then, mechanic it is.

Re:Rumble on decel 4 Years, 10 Months ago
Well everyone, I put the baffles back in today. The fiber mesh has been removed. The pipes sound good and the bike runs great! Wish I could get the pipes louder, but I will have to make due with what I have for now. I am a strong believer in the saying "loud pipes save lives". Anyone have any suggestions for good loud pipes that don't have that "jake brake" sound on decel?
