I have two buddies thatI have run around with for 39 years. One guys son is being deployed to Afganistan around Memorial Day. We are riding from Arkansas to Fort Carson Co. for his deployment ceremony. We figure around 2000 miles total. I can't hardly wait to get started! Two of us ride roadies the oddball rides a Victory 8-ball [There's one in every crowd!] Us roadie guys harass him every chance we get! Anyway, we are headed out that week and I hope to have some good road tales to tell when we get back.

Excellent... Good luck to your friend's son. I've got an old SF buddy that's been over there for three years, "opening credit unions."
Hope all three of you have a safe journey.

PS: the rubber tube cruise control works just fine, and it gets some of the strangest looks from uninformed riders at gas stops....and I think I pais 89 cents a foot for two feet of it! LOL!

I think I got 1/4" OD fuel line from Ace Hardware in their lawnmower dept. Thin enough to wedge between your starter switgh housing and the inboard end of your grip, but tight enough to hold the throttle in place with the friction EASY

No worries. I don;t even zip-tie it in place...I loop it loosely around the insert-points for the throttle cables, then back thru the overhand knot several times until I run out of hose. Same thing for the loose end that drapes over my grip. It sort of finishes it off and gives something to grab with a gloved hand.
