Picked one up today! It's orange so I won't be able lose it very easily... and I'll try not to have to use it!

Great thread, glad to here that you were able to get the drain plug off. I'm new to the forum & wanted to say thank you to everyone who had input on this topic. I read it the other day just before I was going to do an oil change for the first time. I put the bike up on a jack & had a good chuckle when my 17MM wrench wouldn't fit over the drain pug. I followed the instructions to grind down the outside of my wrench & viola no problem. I would have stripped it for sure.
Thx again Cheers.

I had this same problem. Of course the shope said I did it, except they were only ones to change oil. Needless to say I bought a lift and did it myself. I used all the tricks oincludeing those m the previous discussion (3-4-6 months ago??). grinded wrenches, chisel, lubricant, heat, etc. I finally hooked up my air chisel and hit it twice and it poped loose. Reinstalled 14 mm 1.50 thread bolts on cam and pan and i am exstatic! Thanks for all the ideas! The design is truely jacked up.

a slight correction concerning the size.....you will actually be looking for a 14 X 1.50 thread pitch. It will have a 14mm head on it, and you will find it much easier to do oil changes on from here on out.
Do you have an AutoZone part number on that? I can't find those dimensions on their web site.
