A 160 is as big as you can go without moding the finder sub frame and other stuff. I always find it strange that the VStar 1100 has a 180 and we have a 150. I gues it is because of the belt drive vs the shaft drive.

I know it has been discussed and argued before, but I have a Metz ME880 size 180 on my rear with no cutting grinding or anything. Has never rubbed once.

I'm going to say if Your in USA the widest tire you can fit is a 175 75 16 Darkside Tire. Pictured below, Fit on an 07 no cutting bending hammering, or praying. Straight azz bolt on. Now that's FAT! And........... how many time do we answer this question?

Hmmm...I wanted to put a Metz 170 on mine but was told a 160 was as big as I could go without mods. Next time, I'll try harder.

I'm 250 Ha ha OM shows how to adjust the spring. 32 mm Nuts on shock turn em in up to 2 in I think, (Look at OM for distance to measure from, sorta like center of eye to edge of nut) at 240 alone 1.5 to 1.75 should be about right. Trouble is, once you move them I found you have to use a gob of JB water Weld to hold them in place or they ultimately move back to no pre load in like 500 miles. Or you can clip or wire the threads. Just be advised they work loose and it starts to bottom out again. With my tire, no problems two up and loaded to the max on a trip. No rubbing.

WOW MS if your 250 and can get away with a 180 and no rubbing my skinny 165 butt should be able to as well as long as it doesn't hit the sissy bar bracket bolts.

Hey Old Navy! Yep This Marine is a solid 250 ! I have a 175 75 16 Car Tire under that factory fender and I load up one Hot Chick of my choice and all our gear weighing in at a Solid 1280 Lbs Gross with 35 Lbs of air in both tires and move on down the road at 80 MPH and never rub a lick anywhere. Darkside!

Gross

Rear Tire, Balance of difference is what is on front tire, and that is a Rear Tire turned backwards on the front rim ya know.
