to ask or not to ask ..... 9 Years, 1 Month ago
i just got my 2000 roadstar about a month ago since then i bought a factory sissy bar and factory soft bag gaurds. these look like they mount in the same place, can both of these be mounted or one or the other? any one been there and do i have to jack the bike up to get inside of the fender? or is the installation all from the outside.

When I put my bag guards on there was enough clearance to get my fingers and a wrench on the inside. Just enough but adequate. Had to get some longer bolts though. The ones that came with the guards weren't long enough.

It is all from the outside. I dont believe you will want to use the saddle bag mounts without having the sissy bar in place. It helps maintain the spacing on the fender. You can "suck" them in without it if you tighten too much. by suck themn in I mean you will pull the fender out and have more of the bolt sticking inside than you would want. I didnt have to reach inside the fender to mount mine.
