Darkest Riding Glasses? 9 Years, 8 Months ago
What are the darkest day driving glasses you guys have found? The sun kills me during the day. Right now I drive with my Ray Bans. They are dark, but I could use more for that Louisiana sun!

I use Maui Jims, very dark and high quality. Probably not the best scoot glasses as they are not safety glass impact resistant. I broke lens once when I drop them on the concrete, but they are very comfortable and dark.

I wear these. http://www.gatorz.com/db/html/

They aren't the darkest, but they keep the wind off my eyes like no other. You can custome order different lens and frame colors as well.

I usually use Smith & Wesson Shooting/Safety Glasses, things are always getting scratched and I get headaches if my glasses are scratched, they are cheap like 6 bucks a pair at the safety supply outlet, wrap around the sides to cut out the side light glare, and come in a light tint for nighttime driving that will cut down the headlight glare and still let me see.

I now have a pair of Bobstars that have the lens that change. work great in day and night when they turn almost clear. they have safety lenses, foam padding and I only gave 39 bucks. Not bad for good scoot glasses.

if you like your ray bans...take them to an optician, and ask them to dye them the darkest color they have....you should be good to go, and it shouldn't cost all that much. pearl or 4 eyes probably won't do it, you will probably have to find an independant shop that does their own dispensing.

Chad,
Send me your address, I wear a very dark set of wraparound safety glasses I get from work and have a few spare pairs here. Company is very pro-active about using them at home, riding etc so they are happy to supply us with them in small quantities for personal use. I'll throw a pair in the mail to you. Nice looking glasses and keep the sun, dust and wind out very well.
