======================

They were likely reffering to the rollover valve.

Its located on the end of a small rubber hose that attached to a pipe thats on top front of the fuel tank ,you gain access to it by removing the bolts 3 or so bolts holding the chrome speedo cover/hosusing to fuel tank along with 2 elec plug connections on front and 1 elec connection/plug at the rear of the tank.

After the bike sits for a few days you could try removing the fuel cap just prior to firing it up to remove any vacuum in the tank if the rollover valve was stuck or clogged up and if the bike fire right up quickly like it used to then you know what the problem is.

If that desn't get it then maybe something happened to the fuel pump or choke /cold enrichment knob
when the bike fell over causing it to start ahrder/slower when the motors cold.

Good luck.

Scott

If I ride it everyday it gives no problem at all I don't understand any chance it could be s vs?? Bike is due for a oil change wonder if it's letting a valve stick after the oil drains off of it thanks for the input I'm just about at my limit on it it's so aggravating

Do you roll the throttle once full stop prior to trying to start? The accelerator pump primes the carb throat when you do this and starting is much easier.

My '06 sits a lot I only rode 3100 miles last year. I keep Sta-Bil in it at all times. I have never used the 1 twist prime thing JD referred to but don't see what it could hurt by trying. Sometimes it sits 2 weeks without being fired but it always does and runs great. I am pumpless with a vented fuel cap, rollover valve in place and was tested 8 months ago and found to be working, grizzly valve installed, and carb inlet fuel filter removed. No fuel filter at all. 6 month old AGM battery. I shut my fuel off before killing the ignition. I'm at 800' elevation. My bike has not fallen over in the 13 months I have owned it. New E-3 spark plugs 8 months ago. My bike is also due for an oil change. Trying to think of anything to do with starting you could compare to your bike. I think that's all I got.

If you try the loosen your cap before starting thing, listen as you loosen the cap. If you hear pressure releasing when you loosen the cap then you got some kind of venting problem which could be cured in many different ways.

Are you using the choke? You didn't mention it.

Yes using the choke at first attempt then adjust it while trying to start the bike was pushed over at my house in the middle of the night so I layed over several hours before I found it it ran daily no issues I could use a air filter as well just trying to figure this one out... I may be wrong but don't think it is a venting issue I can run a full tank out with no issues at all on restart or running at speed wouldn't a vent issue show up as the tank is being ran out??

I will definitely try this can't hurt a bit do you think the carb may be losing its "prime" and takes a Lil time to build up then that's when it starts hum haven't thought about that option I did have a issue in the summer of it gettin hot and spitting up gas out of the air cleaner and fuel pump stopped pumping one time for a few minutes but started back and been ok since

Hey we just hope you figure it out soon and that it's nothing expensive to fix. It's not the bike, like I said I have the same bike and mine sits all the time but I have a warm dry climate here which makes things easier.
