The idle adjuster turns hard but it does turn. The PMS is on the carb behind the float bowl.

Stupid question... Does anyone have a pic of the PMS on the carb for reference? Can it be accessed with the carb on the bike or must it be taken off.

hey guys i am new to motorcycles and my 07 road star does seem to have an idle problem what is the best setting for the idle screw and is that the same as the pms that u all talk about?

The idle adjuster and PMS are 2 different things. The idle adjuster is below and slightly forward of the bottom of the air box. You can see the knob. The PMS is on the bottom of the carb behind the float bowl. The book calls for about 900 RPM for the idle. You can lower it some with no problem.I don't think I'd go below 750 though.
