Idle speed should be around 900rpm. I don't have a tach either, so I just set it by ear. Don't set it too low though as the oil pressure gets too low.

stinger is correct but you can lower the OEM setting a bit. Cold with choke or warm it should idle so that it does not lope heavily .... it should kinda putt-putt evenly along.

I have come to disagree with the oil pressure thought on these bikes. I have had an oil pressure gauge on both my bikes and at idle they carry 20 pounds of pressure steady. At higher RPM's around crusing speed they carry 80 pounds of pressure. I think the only time you have to worry about oil pressure at bidle is when the outdoor temps are around the 100's and your sitting in heavy traffic. (Like Texas) Guess I will find out for sure this summer. RPM should be between 750 - 950 I run mine around 850.

What do you have for jetting? If the air box is stock you didn't need to jet.

You didn't make any other changes? I would go back to the stock pilot. Make sure you don't have any leaks. The carb is all the way into the manifold and the clamp is good. The air box has a good seal on the carb. On a fully warmed up bike adjust the PMS by slowly turning it in until the motor stumbles. Then counting the turns slowly turn it back out until the motor stumbles again. Half way in between is good for the PMS. So if you go back out 3 turns you need to go back in 1 1/2. Remember, make the turns slowly. You can even stop every turn and let the motor catch up. Set the idle on a fully warmed upbike.

OK I know this might be a dumb way to ask this but I have been wondering if I have my idle set correctly or at least in the ball park and didn't really know how to ask correctly so I thought a video would be the way to go. So here we go, what do you guys think? I am in the garage with only a shop light and this is video from the phone so not the best quality, but the best I could do right now.
To fast? To Slow? Kind of Close?

Sounded pretty close there at the end. It needs to be warmed up before setting.
By the way Roadie looks like he's doing just fine now.
